Payment of memberships and donations is available on this website using Visa, Mastercard or Amex.

Your membership connects you to the AMI community and includes:

• Voting rights at AMI's Annual General Meeting (AGM)
• AMI's membership newsletter and updates from around the world
• Discounts and access at to selected AMI events and congresses
• Educational publications, including AMI Journals and Treasure Articles
• Access to AMI Digital materials through your member credits, once the new service launches

AMI membership is currently for individuals. AMI is also developing its Global School Accreditation (GSA) programme, which is currently in its pilot phase. This will provide a separate way for schools to connect with and be recognised by AMI.

AMI membership is open to anyone who believes in Montessori and wants to be part of the global Montessori community. You can join for one year or choose Lifetime Membership. AMI Diploma students are required to hold membership while completing their course. After completing their course, they are invited to continue their membership directly with AMI. Some AMI Affiliated Societies also offer collective membership, combining local and AMI membership.

Membership is more than access to resources. It is a way to belong to a global community connected by shared values and a commitment to Montessori education. As a member, you help support AMI’s work to advance Montessori education around the world — and become part of its future.

Your member number can be found in your AMI account Dashboard once you’re signed in.

AMI membership does not include a physical membership certificate or card. All membership communications, including confirmation of membership and relevant updates, are provided digitally via email. This approach supports AMI’s commitment to efficient, sustainable communication and ensures that members receive timely information regardless of their location.

Your receipt or invoice will be emailed to you after payment. You can also find and download it at any time from the Orders section of your Dashboard.

Once you join, you’ll receive an email confirming your membership, along with your receipt. We’ll also keep you connected through regular membership communications, including updates, news and publications from across the AMI community. If you don’t see your emails, please check your junk or spam folder.

When I go to join, I'm asked to Sign In or Register. What does this mean?

When joining or renewing membership using this website, you'll be asked to Sign In or Register. This allows you to securely pay the membership fee and create your user account. Prior to July 2025, payment was made on our main AMI website without creating an account, so if you're joining for the first time, or renewing since this date you won't already have an account so you'll need to select the Register option to create a new account. 

When you Register and pay for your membership, your account will have your membership details on file, including your membership number, expiry date and copy of your order and receipt. Your membership will automatically provide you with a credit allocation which will be used in the future for downloading Montessori digital materials on the relaunched AMI Digital website (anticipated late 2026).

When you register, you’ll be asked to verify your email address and create a secure password. Your verification email is valid for five minutes, so please complete the process promptly and, where possible, use the same device and browser you registered with. Member credits will give you access to downloadable digital Montessori materials on the relaunched AMI Digital website. Each material will have a credit value, and your available credits will be shown in your account.
